Working closely with Jim Cass and Laurie Anderson, we developed a method to achieve the look and effect of clouds that Jim had prototyped. The clouds were lightweight aluminium and fibreglass rod with stockinette, wadding and polyfill stuffing. Everything had to be fire retardent. The clouds also had freestanding stems that conveyed smoke.
